Travel Time:

There is no charge for travel within Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange Counties.  The fee for travel time to and from other destinations is 50% of the regular hourly fee.

Mediator fees are charged by the half-day (up to 5 hours including 1 hour of preparation time), the whole day (up to 10 hours including 2 hours of preparation time), or by the hour.  Please contact Eric at: eric@ericvanginkel.com or call (310) 836-1919.  Arbitrator fees are usually charged by the hour.

Payment Policy:

Following standard industry practice, parties must deposit fees for the estimated number of hours multiplied by the applicable rate, no later than two weeks prior to the mediation session or ad hoc arbitration hearing to reserve the date.  An additional fee deposit may be required in the event the parties need multiple sessions.  Such a deposit needs to be made before the start of each additional session.

Fees are charged for preparation (review of mediation statements, records, arbitration briefs, research) and the mediation or arbitration proceeding.  Statements for Services Rendered are due upon receipt.
